Each year, Life Care Center of Valparaiso, Indiana, partners with Rittenhouse Assisted Living down the road to offer a special luncheon for volunteers.
On April 16, 2015, approximately 30 volunteers gathered at Rittenhouse for the luncheon. Life Care Center of Valparaiso provided small thank-you gifts of tote bags with matching water bottles for all volunteers.
Many of the same community members volunteer on both senior living campuses, and attendees at the luncheon also included volunteers at Porter Hospital, the Visiting Nurses Association, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and St. Agnes Adult Day Center.
“Our volunteers at Life Care Center of Valparaiso are amazing,” said Cathy Ellis, marketing director. “We have so many different volunteers, like homeschooled children who come to visit, read or play games with our residents; volunteers who sing or play instruments, assist with bingo, visit our veterans; and volunteers from church groups who put on services for our residents. They all definitely make a difference in our residents’ lives.”
